Badger D. Sinn abandoned his belongings and began traveling the United States in an effort to escape conformity and live a life of total nomadic freedom. He makes jewelry out of scraps of metal and sells the products as his only source of income. He lives in a tent, makes art, recites poetry, bathes in rivers, and is unashamedly himself. These photos were taken in Gainesville, Florida.
The Coon Man
Wayne Wheeler joined the Pentecostal church after being released from prison and after 18 years of battling crack and alcohol addiction. He adopted three wild raccoons and became known around his town of Gainesville, Florida as 'The Coon Man.' The raccoons, Eli, Sheba, and Mama Ricky, were put down by county officials after a citizen complained of an attack.
